Years ago, there have been some claims about scientific errors in the Qur’an, but Qur’an actually didn’t have any conflict with established science or facts .. Thus, comparing a hypothesis/theory with a Qur’anic verse is a non-sense!

As for the Alaquah (leech like substance). Notice the 3 meanings and the classification according to the appearance Not the “Function”.. Dr. Zakir explains this issue in details during this video presentation:
